🍓 Wild strawberries have so much to say if you stop and listen to their stories 🍓
Niawenhkó:wa for supporting my artwork! Hi, I’m Leilani! I’m Mohawk and Paiute and grew up on Kahnawá:ke Mohawk Territory located just outside of what’s now known as Montreal.
This drawing is to honour of the many gifts we receive from ken’niiohontésha (strawberry); a food, a drink, a medicine, a story teller. We celebrate each year with a strawberry ceremony when the wild berries become ripe in June.
